A huge well done to all of the children for this half term, especially the year 2s who showed just how fantastic they are when doing their quizzes! Year 1s remember it's your turn for a phonics quiz soon so keep reading over the break and spotting those 'special friends' in words! Have a lovely, relaxing break everyone and we look forward to seeing you in June for our new topic, Twisted Tales!
The KS1 Team
Today we visited the New Forest Wildlife Park as part of our Wolves topic, to see real wolves for the first time! The children got the chance to see the wolves being fed as well as otters. We were also lucky enough to see deer, butterflies, a bison, mice and pole cats. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and learnt so many facts about the different animals! Thank you again to all of our parent helpers.

Seahorse class have made me very proud this half term. They have been so engaged in learning about the problems affecting our world and have been passionate about making it a better place. The children have shown just how conscientious and caring they are when they have taken part in litter picking, bug hotel making, sensory garden designing and junk modelling.
I hope everyone has a great Easter. Have lots of rest and enjoy the spring weather! Please keep going with reading and practical maths, such as telling the time, or using coins to pay for items. We will send home some activities for year 2 parents and carers for some extra ideas for how to help your child at home. See you on Tuesday 23rd April!
The children have loved learning about and celebrating Easter this week. They have worked as teams to create Easter gardens and had a bonnet parade showing off their amazing Easter hats!
What a fantasic way to end our Wonderful World Topic, by recycling junk to create models, with the help of our adults! The children loved seeing their grown ups get involved and their models were brilliant! Thank you to all parents and carers who able to come and join in.
The children had a fantastic World Book Day! Thank you for all of the great costumes that the children wore, they all looked briliant, and a special thank you to all of the parents who came in to read with their children at the end of the day. Remember to keep sharing stories at home!

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who supported our l-learn sessions and came in to see the children’s interactive museum to round-up our Explorer topic. The children really enjoyed sharing all their learning with you. We look forward to our next topic ‘Wonderful World’ where the children will be learning about making our World a better place and how to look after the environment. We hope that you have a great well-earned break and look forward to welcoming you back on 25th February.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the amazing planetarium dome experience today. A big thank you to the PTA and parents for raising the funds for this fantastic start to our topic on space. We can't wait to continue learning all about it!

What a fantastic first half term Seahorse Class have had! They have all settled really well and have been brilliant at adjusting to their new class. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who came in to read with their children during our round up. I would also like to thank all parents and carers for supporting your children on their learning jounrey. Welcome back Seahorses! We hope that you had a great holiday and a well earned rest. It has been great to get to know you all and see you all have such a super start to the year. My name is Miss White and I am your class teacher. Mrs Moore is our Teaching Assistant.

As part of our Forests topic, Seahorse Class spent a lovely, sunny day today visiting Bolderwood in the New Forest. The children loved taking part in scavenger hunts, learning about nocturnal animals, making forest animals from pine cones and building habitats for them! Have a look at our photos of us having a fantastic time. Can you spot our forest animals in their habitats?

Seahorses thoroughly enjoyed our Roundup yesterday and it was lovely to see so many adults in the classroom with the children, making their healthy sandwiches. I am so proud of how they typed their own instructions and were able to use the laptops confidently. Thank you for your hard work again this half term, just one more to go! Year 1s have taken home some real and pseudo words to practice during half term in preparation for the reading quiz after half term. Have a good rest and we'll see you on 4th June!
Seahorses went for our second walk around the Board Walk and Goatee beach now that the developments have been finished. It was great to see the improvements that have been made, especially for those people in wheelchairs or for children in pushchairs. The board walk looks lovely and the children really enjoyed taking their own photos of the wildlife and scenery on the iPads! Thanks to Ruth Kerr for being our guide!
I hope everyone had a brilliant Easter and welcome back! The children have started the half term by planning a disgusting sandwich. Please make sure you try and read as much as possible with your child, either listening to them or reading to them. Can the year 2 children bring in any of the quizzes they did over the holidays and please let the class teacher know if you had any concerns with them.

What a great way to end the half term. The children looked amazing during our Easter bonnet parade in school. Thank you for all your help with their bonnets. Have a great half term and we will see you on April 16th.
We would just like to say how amazing the children looked on 'World Book Day'. We appreciate all the effort their parents and carers put in. We had a great day reading different books and then doing activities linked to them, such as learning a magic trick and building with straws. We hope they all feel inspired to keep reading at home!
What a great start to our new topic of Africa! We have had a brilliant day doing Adinkra printing and story telling. The children loved doing the African drumming and dance as well! We had a fabulous time. A big thank you to Kwame and Lotte (www.africanactivities.org.uk) for coming in and sharing all their amazing knowledge of Africa.

As part of Safer Internet Day, Seahorse class have been thinking about being kind to each other on the internet as well as which images are safe to put online. The children have created posters on what they most like about school and have written positive comments about them for each other. We have discussed how by putting these on our class page, anyone in the world can view our posters and we are very proud of them!
Thank you Asda for a great trip around your store yesterday! The children were fascinated to learn how your pancakes and pizzas are made and how the checkouts work. They loved getting their own receipts for items they put through the till and the pizzas were delicious! The children can how say were different fruits come from around the world and are great at identifying healthy and unhealthy foods.

Well done everyone for such an amazing Nativity play! I would like to say a particularly big well done to Layla who stood in for a year 2 and was able to act out a speaking role so confidently. You all sang brilliantly and we are very proud of your hard work during all of the rehearsals and the final performances.

Seahorses thoroughly enjoyed the IBM TriScience event! Thank you to all of those who helped set up and run the event, the children loved it and couldn't stop talking about what they had learnt.
The children were brilliant at being part of our interactive museum for the Great Fire of London! I was so proud of how they stayed in position and remembered their facts. Thank you to everyone who came and experienced the museum and we hope you learnt something new!
