Wow! What an amazing day we had at the New Forest Wildlife Park! We saw all the animals and learnt all about the Wolves for our new topic.

World Book Day
The children looked wonderful on World Book Day and I know lots of effort went into their costumes so a big thank you to everyone who contributed. The children were so excited to see each other's outfits and had lots of fun with their book based activities during the day. The day was rounded off with a lovely, cosy reading time and the children love it when you come into read with them and the hot chocolate and biscuits help too! I would just like to say how well the children have done over Christmas! This has been a long term and they have kept on going right to the end. The Christmas performances were brilliant, as was the ukulele concert. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year. See you in January.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the amazing planetarium dome experience today. A big thank you to the PTA and parents for raising the funds for this fantastic start to our topic on space. We can't wait to continue learning all about it!

Well done Seals for your amazing singing in our Harvest Assembly and a big thank you for all the harvest donations for the food bank. What a lovely way to end a super half term of learning! It was great seeing all the parents and carers in school on Friday for our topic round up as well. Thank you for coming in to share a book with the children. We hope that you all have a good half term break and we look forward to starting our new topic of ‘Space’. We can’t wait to see inside the Planetarium!
We had a fun trip to Totton Library to start our new topic on brilliant books! We had a great time exploring the library and doing a treasure hunt. We enjoyed listening to a story and talking about books.

The children are having a great time during Arts Week. We have had lots of artists and visitors into school teaching us different art skills around the theme of forests. The children are very excited about the Art Gallery we are going to create ready for the grand opening at 3pm on Friday. We look forward to seeing you there to showcase all the amazing art we have created.
YWe had a fabulous day at Bolderwood today. The children were beautifully behaved and a credit to you and the school, the weather was wonderful and we all learnt lots of new things about the New Forest. In the morning we had practical learning sessions in different areas of the forest. In the afternoon the children made pine cone animals and had loads of fun making them little homes. Welcome back Seals! We hope that you had a great Easter break. We are looking forward to starting our new topic of `Sandy Toes'. Our learning will be around the topic of sea shores and the book - The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch by Ronda and David Armitage.
During the first week back we also be visiting the brand new Eling Tide Mill experience which has now opened!
The bad news was the weather! It was sad to cancel our annual Easter bonnet walk to St Mary's Church. The good news was that the children still enjoyed the service in the hall and parading in their beautiful hats. They sang heartily for our visitors from the church and complimented each other on their excellent Easter bonnets. There are more pictures on this site but here is one of just our class looking proud and happy. Thank you to everyone who made such a great effort again this year, your children looked wonderful.
We would just like to say how amazing the children looked on 'World Book Day'. We appreciate all the effort their parents and carers put in. We had a great day reading different books and then doing activities linked to them, such as learning a magic trick and building with straws. We hope they all feel inspired to keep reading at home!
What a great start to our new topic of Africa! We have had a brilliant day doing Adinkra printing and story telling. The children loved doing the African drumming and dance as well! We had a fabulous time. A big thank you to Kwame and Lotte for coming in and sharing all their amazing knowledge of Africa.

As part of Safer Internet Day, Seals class have been thinking about being kind to each other on the internet as well as which images are safe to put online. The children have created posters on what they most like about school and have written positive comments about them for each other. We have discussed how by putting these on our class page, anyone in the world can view our posters and we are very proud of them!
We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas break and are looking forward to the Spring term. Our topic is 'bodies' and we have lots of fun learning and activities planned. Please look at the curriculum newsletter for more details and keep an eye on this site if you want to see pictures of some of the fun things we are getting up to. What a brilliant round up! I thought the children did brilliantly in creating an interactive museum. I hope that those who attended came out knowing a lot of facts about the Great Fire of London. Now it is time for the Christmas build up.
Thank you to all the parents today who contributed to our reading for pleasure 'Cinderella day'. Thanks to your efforts the children all looked wonderful and it was great to have so many parents come and join us at the end of the day. A new half term full of fun events. Our topic is 'fire fire' and the children will be learning about the great fire of London. We are also enjoying listening to the children tell us about their Halloween and fire work experiences at home.

Welcome to Seals Class. What a great class we have this year and we are enjoying getting to know one another. Mrs Collins is the class teacher on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and Mrs Nye is the class teacher on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Miss Dowse is the teaching assistant every day. We have an exciting curriculum planned for this term and we hope that all the children are happy and learning lots. There will be lots of opportunities for you to come into school and find out what your child is doing but if you need to speak to us in between these times we are more than happy to talk with you. Please check your emails for details of what is happening in school and keeping up to date with the children's homework.
Medieval day was a great success, thank you for all your efforts to ensure the children were dressed for the occasion. During the day we participated in knight school, learnt jesters skills and wrote about our own characters. We ended the day with a banquet and the children loved showing off their medieval dance, castles and figures they had made in art. I hope you enjoy the pictures of our day. Well done for all your hard work this term, we hope that you have a great half term and we look forward to welcoming you back to our new topic of `Oceans and Seas'.
Wow! what a busy end to our half term. During R.E. we have been thinking about special places. We talked about our own special places, where we feel safe and peaceful, we built a special retreat in the classroom and visited St Marys Church to find out why it is a special place in our community. Well done Seals! We started our new topic of Megastructures with a fantastic trip to Portchester Castle. We had a brilliant time and learnt about the history of the castle. Please see the pictures below:
Happy Easter everyone. What a gorgeous afternoon we had for our Easter bonnet parade! Thank you all for helping the children make their wonderful hats. We made quite a picture walking through Eling. The children were a credit to us all at the church and got us feeling ready for our Easter break with their cheerful singing.

Welcome back to the second half of Spring term. We have lots of fun learning opportunities planned for our topic of 'World Kitchen.' We will also have our usual opportunities for parents and carers to see children's learning and will be pleased to see you at any of our welcome to learning mornings, round ups or special assemblies.
Our school looked amazing today with all the children dressed in their wonderful costumes. Thank you to all parents/carers who made such a great effort today. We had a super day enjoying books and being creative with writing and illustrations. The children particularly liked their grown ups visiting and of course the hot chocolate and biscuits. Thank you Hampshire Fire and Rescue. They came in today to talk about keeping safe in and out of school. The children have some jobs to do at home related to fire safety, so please help them.
I hope everyone is enjoying our 'Journey' topic. We have written our own journey stories which we can't wait to read to you. We are now learning about Robert Falcon Scott who led an expedition to the South Pole. Soon we will be reporters on this event.
