I don’t think any of us can believe that we have come to the end of the year! What a brilliant year it has been and I’m sure that we all have our own highlights. For Mrs. Sillence and the Eling Team, I think that being graded as ‘outstanding’ in all five areas of Ofsted has got to be one of the best things that happened this year, very well deserved. I’m sure you will join me in thanking them for all that they do every day for our children.

For some of us, including me, this may be the end of our journey as Eling parents. Both my children have been through the school.  They both had a wonderful time at Eling and as parents you felt that the whole team always put the children at the centre of everything that they do. Eling will always have a place in our hearts. I am not leaving though and will stay on as a governor, I love it that much!

Thank you to the PTA for all their hard work in raising funds for the school. They have organised some great events this year with the Fayre being the biggest. It was such a lovely afternoon and so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves so much. The money raised contributes towards many important things for the children but also the fun stuff like Easter eggs and at the recent Go Ape trip they treated us all to an ice lolly that we were all very grateful for. Please consider joining them next year, it’s a great cause. Any amount of time you can spare is very much appreciated.

We say goodbye to all our Year 2’s and wish them every success in their next steps in Junior school. I hope that they can take all the positive experiences and learning that they have had at Eling and represent the school wherever they go. I am sure you will make Eling proud!

We have one vacancy in our Governors team. Training is provided and there are many different fields of interest you can choose. All you need is the focus on making the experience for the children the best it can be. I attach a photo of me and Gemma, another governor, at the recent Go Ape year 2 trip. As you can see, there are fun parts too!

On behalf of all the Governors, we would like to wish you a lovely summer and look forward to seeing those of you coming back in September. Thank you for your contributions this year and I hope that your children have enjoyed it all.
