Years 1 and 2 2025 - 2026

Please see the red banners at the bottom of the page to download the latest curriculum newsletter and knowledge organiser, to keep up to date with what the children are learning in school.

Christmas decorations

The children have decorated some Christmas tree baubles. Mr Neal and some of our year 2 children dropped them to the team at the Tide Mill. Please visit the tree there to see their decorations.

Testwood Baptist Church morning

We were very lucky to have visitors from the Testwood Baptist Church. They came in to help hook the children into our learning around Christmas. They spoke about the journeys that were made in the Christmas story.

Great Fire of London round up!

What a great way to end our topic! The children became an interactive museum and helped teach our parents and carers facts. We were really proud that the children kept repeating their facts. Well done Year 1 and 2 children.

Bread making

The children acted like Thomas Farriner and made bread. We wrote instructions so that they can help others make bread. We had a great time!

Remembrance day

The children all came together for the two minute silence. We spoke about remembering those who help us and have helped us in the past. We were very proud of all the children.

Autumn 2 Welcome

Welcome back to Autumn 2! The children have come back to our new topic, the Great Fire of London. We will be finding out about how the fire started and why it spread quickly. Please ask them about the fire of London to see what they have learnt.

Year 1 Phonics iLearn

Thank you parents for coming to the phonics iLearn all around this year's PSC and how to support reading at home. Please find the slides to this at the bottom of this page.

End of Autumn 1

Thank you for coming into our round up where we showed our learning about the Bog Baby. Hope you enjoyed the sculptures they have made. We hope you have a lovely and well earned rest over half term. Please read the knowledge organiser and curriculum leaflet below which will tell you all about next half term which is... FIRE FIRE!!

Bog Baby Update!

After finding Bob Baby in our school grounds and then going missing we decided to go for a walk. As we arrived in the woods we were lucky enough to find a Bog Baby high up in the trees. We all agreed that a Bog Baby is a wild creature and needs to remain in its natural habitat so we left him a letter. So to remember Bog Baby we will be making our very own one alongside a Bog Baby home for it to live in. Look forward to seeing you in our round up and our Harvest Assembly. Thank you for all your support and only 1 week to go!

Autumn 1

Welcome back! It has been brilliant meeting the Dolphins, Seals and Seahorses in their new classes. The children have been amazing at getting into their new routines. We have begun our new topic this week called "Bog Baby." We went for a local walk around our area and were lucky enough to see 3 in their natural habitat. If you have any questions or concerns, please see your class teacher. See the pictures below.
